Okay, I've been very bad. Didn't realize I had not done anything on this blog in such a long time. Shoot I need to even change how many grandkids I have. There are 2 more since I last blogged. ROFL!!!! So I guess I will have to make an effect to come by here a little more often!

Sorry...been gone too long

Well made it to the end of the race. Didn't win the grand prize but had fun doing the race. Judy and I plan to run the next race as partners again. One thing the race did was make me want to scrap pages. I have been doing new things also. I learnt how to do an extraction and I made a photo of Jake into an overlay and used it for the background paper.

I have to get busy and get my house in order. I have a bunch of my husband's family coming. Every October the coast hosts the "Crusin the Coast". It is where all antique cars come for a week party. My father-in-law enters his old Hudsons he has refurbished. This year both my son's family and my daughter's family will be here too. Well ya''ll stay safe till next time.

Just for Hummie

Okay, I know I haven't posted here like I should. Been busy with real life. Plus I am doing the Amazing Digi Scrap Race and that has taken up some of my time. My sister who has been away all summer finally got home and I just had to spend the last 2 weekwends with her. I missed her. No, really we are pretty close. Oh and I went out of town for my grandson's 7th birthday party, so that took up another weekend. Will have to post some of the photos if I ever make them into a layout...LOL. I have to ask a question, "Why do you always have to have one person you work with that you just can't stand to be around? Really, I work with one person that does not have a brain. To top it off he gets paid big bucks and screws everything up. I know it is just a matter of time before he gets booted but he sure makes it hard on us girls in the office. Took this at work so I could have a good photo to use on the web. I am always taking the pictures so there aren't that many good ones of me hanging around. Sorry I haven't posted in awhile.

I've been away to long. I have to make a better effect to post more often. Okay, where to start. Been real busy with work and then trying to get stuff done at home. My daughter and the boys came last weekend. Took the boys fishing. Didn't even catch a hard head. Joey didn't want to stay since we weren't catching anything. I think Jake had fun especially when we left him with Papa. You know that male bonding thing. It was a fun weekend for the boys. With fishing, movies and then swimming I think they had a good time. Jake also got to shoot the BB gun with Papa. I got some good photos of the boys fishibg and swimming. Will post the LOs when I get them done.

I'm so excited. I just got a wide format printer. WooHoo!! I went to Office Depot cause lightening took out what I thought was my modem, it turned out to be my ethernet card. But they had an HP 8750 printer on clearance for $280. That's a $220 savings. I didn't have the money but went to the casino (using free money they give you each week) and won $200. DH told me I could go and get it. Boy, I love that man. Now I have to find a retailer for the 12x12 paper. There aren't any stores locally that carries it.

I did this layout of a coworkers little girl for the May color challenge over at Digi by Design. She is so cute but she does have a stubborn streak. But 2 year olds are like that. Was at my sisters again yesterday. Spent about 3 hours scanning those old photos. Still have a bunch to do. I can't wait for her to go on vacation this year. She is going to be visiting my oldest sister and hopefully they will go through old photos that she has. I can see how my winter will be this year, scanning and scrapping! Thought I would share what it looked like before I tried to restore it.

My sister found a box with some old photos in it and we went through them today. This photo of my mother was in it. I had never seen it before and worked for sometime on it to to try and restore it. I'm happy with how it came out. I used Fishinmom Designz' Amanda Jean kit. As you can guess I was on the computer all day scanning photos and 35mm slides. Some of the pictures we found are nearly 70 years old. It's hard to believe that they made it through two of the worst hurricanes (Camille and Katrina) we have ever had but they did. I think I'll head off to bed now, until next time stay safe.

My son and his family were here Mother's Day weekend and I went crazy snapping photos of my youngest grandson, Zach. This is the first layout I did from that weekend. Been real busy with work...having to work some long hours. Will try to post again soon. Till next time stay safe.

Been gone too long

Okay, I've been real busy and haven't posted in a month. Had my DD and her family here for a visit. They had to go to a wedding so I didn't get to spend that much time with them. Then my son and his family came. Unfortunately there was a death in my DIL's family. I did get some cute photos of my youngest grandson. Will have to scrap some and post them here. Men can be so annoying. My DH broke down on the way to work this morning. He calls and wakes me up, mind you it isn't even 5:00 yet. Then he says he is gonna call his friend to see if he can come and get him and the truck. Not even ten minutes later he calls to say his friend will be there to get him. So why didn't he call him in the first place and let me sleep? Now I have to find a way to work tomorrow so that he can use my car. So folks that's it for now. Until next time stay safe.

WooHoo!

The strike is over. My DH works at a shipyard that has been on strike for the last 28 days. They just accepted the contract today. Still will be 2 weeks before we get a paycheck but at least he will have his medical insurance. I really didn't want to have to add him to mine. It would have cost too much and I couldn't remove him until November. This didn't come soon enough. I still can't go to my DD house for Easter. This will be the first year since her boys were born we are not together for Easter. I know the boys are disappointed. I have been trying to learn to make my own papers and elements using PhotoShop Elements. So far all I've done is read and get confused. I think I will just have to get in there and play around with the program. When I get something done I will post it here. That's it for now. Unitl next time stay safe.

Getting the Hang of It

Okay, so I'm starting to get the hang of this. Even added a slide show. I hope to edit the pictures in it soon. I set it up late last night and wasn't happy with some of the photos I choose. Just learnt that my DD Cathy and her family might not come for Easter. This will be the first Easter since the boys were born that we won't spend together. With Kenneth on strike at work I don't think we will be able to go to her house. Speaking of the kids I have to tell you what I did. My DS Kenny, always sends new photos of his son to Walmart for family and friends to look at and print copies. So I send all the photos to Walmart to have a CD made. When I went to my Walmart to pick up the CD they couldn't find it. The last time I sent photos to Walmart it was for my DD. I didn't check to see what Walmart I used. The CD is up in Oxford. I was really bummed. I had wanted to scrap some pages of Zach. So now I have my DD picking up the CD and she will send it to me. This is Zach, he is 13 months old here.

Two of my layouts

I did these layouts using Ruby Q Hammers kit Playtime. I am just starting to get into digital scrapbooking. I find it so much faster then paper scrapping. With living on the Gulf we tend to have hurricanes and I figure it is an added bonus to keep my layouts on CDs or DVDs. I think it will be a lot easier to pick up a binder full of CDs then trying to keep paper albums safe. Unit next time be safe.

Hello

Okay, I have bit the bullet. This is my first try at a blog. We'll see how it goes. I really needed a place to start showing my scrapbook layouts. I have uploaded some on to my favorite digi site but wanted a place where anyone could come and see even it they weren't into digi scrapping..
